Red Door Gallery - Las Vegas, NM
Linda Wooten-Green’s RED DOOR GALLERY area includes an anti-room connecting the transformed attached garage-gallery to the main house. This connecting room opens to the back landscaped courtyard. Her adobe pueblo-style home is located on the Santa Fe Trail (1240 7th Street) in the heart of Las Vegas, New Mexico. (The original Las Vegas!)
The gallery space features a large sky light, east facing French windows, insulation, base board heating, tile flooring, and west facing French double doors. Parking is available in the driveway and on Friedman Avenue on the northside of the house. The house and gallery are located on a corner lot. Linda’s studio space includes the entire upper floor of her home.
High Desert Autumn
Original paintings in oil, acrylic and oil pastel are evocative of the light, color and rhythms of the areas of the country in which she has lived and worked. Currently, the sun saturated light and intense color of the high desert Southwest are echoed in her work.
Stylized portraits, figurative work and still life images are a featured part of her offerings. “Midwestern values meet Southwestern flair in an accessible site on the historic Santa Fe Trail,” quips Linda. A high school art and humanities teacher for many years, she continues to offer occasional workshops in Colorado.
